CORE Electric Cooperative is a member-owned, not-for-profit electric utility that has served Colorado since 1938. It started as a rural electric association and is now the largest electric distribution cooperative in the state. CORE delivers power to more than 164,000 members across nearly 5,000 square miles along the Front Range. It is headquartered in Sedalia and has district offices in Bennett, Pine Junction and Woodland Park. Its employees live and work in the communities they serve.
As a cooperative, CORE is owned by the members it serves. Members elect the board of directors, and margins go back into the local grid instead of to outside shareholders. Members also receive capital credits, which have returned more than $120 million to members over the past decade. CORE is expanding its renewable energy portfolio and supports local nonprofits, schools and safety programs, all under its promise of "The Energy to Thrive."
