Where Horses, Humans, and the Land Heal Together. Since 2015, Liberty's Legacy Inc. dba Journey with Equus has been creating second chances—for horses and for people. Located at Raison d'Être Ranch in Elizabeth, Colorado, Journey with Equus is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit sanctuary and equine-partnered wellness center. Today, more than 100 horses call our ranch home—a living testament to more than a decade of believing that every horse deserves safety, dignity, and a future. We believe a horse's greatest gift is not found in performance, but in presence. The same horses once considered unwanted now help people navigate grief, trauma, stress, anxiety, and life's many challenges. Through equine-partnered wellness experiences, they teach resilience, trust, self-awareness, and authentic connection. We proudly serve youth, veterans, first responders, caregivers, families, and individuals seeking healing, growth, and hope.
